Impactful includes a built-in AI assistant that can help you find activities, generate ideas, learn about causes, and get guidance on using the app. Think of it as a knowledgeable friend who is always available to help you make the most of your impact journey.

What AI Chat Can Help With

The AI assistant is context-aware and can help with a wide range of topics:

• Activity suggestions — get personalised recommendations based on your interests and location
• Idea generation — brainstorm new ways to make an impact in your community
• Learning resources — discover information about causes and social issues you care about
• General guidance — get help with navigating the app, understanding features, or deciding what to do next
• Pledge support — help with creating and planning pledges

How to Access AI Chat

AI Chat is context-specific — it appears within features where it can be most helpful:

• Ideas — tap the chat option on any idea card to discuss it further or get more suggestions
• Activity details — tap the chat option on idea and informal activity detail screens

The chat opens as a bottom sheet overlay, so you can easily close it and return to what you were doing.

1. Navigate to an idea card or activity detail screen
2. Tap the chat option to open the AI assistant
3. Type your question or message in the input field
4. Send your message and wait for the AI to respond

Example Conversations

Here are some things you might ask the AI assistant:

• "What activities can I do near me this weekend?"
• "I want to help with environmental issues but do not know where to start"
• "Can you suggest some ideas for a school volunteering project?"
• "How do I earn more Impact Coins?"
• "What organisations are working on animal welfare?"

Tips for Using AI Chat

• Be specific — the more detail you provide, the better the suggestions. Instead of "suggest an activity", try "suggest an outdoor activity I can do this weekend related to the environment"
• Ask follow-up questions — the AI remembers the context of your conversation within the session, so you can build on previous answers
• Use it for planning — if you are unsure how to approach an activity or pledge, the AI can help you break it down into steps

Note: The AI assistant provides suggestions and information to help you. Always verify details like event times and locations directly from the activity listing, as these may change.

Privacy

Your conversations with the AI assistant are used to provide you with relevant responses. If you delete your account, your AI interaction data is permanently removed. See Delete Your Account for details on data deletion.
