Your First Activity

Introduction

You have downloaded the app, created your account, and set up your profile. Now it is time to make your first impact. Completing an activity is the core of the Impactful experience -- it is how you turn good intentions into real-world action and start earning Impact Coins along the way.

This guide walks you through the entire process, from finding an activity that interests you to submitting your completion and collecting your reward.

Finding an Activity

To browse available activities, tap the Discover tab in the bottom navigation bar. The Discover tab is organised into three sub-tabs at the top of the screen:

• Feed -- A curated stream of activities and content tailored to your interests and location. This is a great place to start if you are not sure what you are looking for.
• Organisations -- A directory of organisations running activities in your area. Joining an organisation can unlock exclusive activities and events.
• Activities -- A dedicated list of all available activities. You can browse by scrolling or use the search bar and filters to narrow results.

Understanding Activity Types

As you browse, you will notice three types of activities:

• Ideas -- AI-generated suggestions based on your interests and skills. These are flexible actions you can take on your own time.
• Events -- Organisation-led activities that take place at a specific time and location. These are structured and often involve group participation.
• Informal -- Flexible, self-logged activities that you can complete at your own pace. These are ideal for independent actions like litter picking or community gardening.

Tip: If you are just getting started, try filtering by activities near your location. Local activities are a great way to make an immediate impact in your community.

Viewing Activity Details

When you find something that catches your eye, tap on it to open the activity detail page. Here you will find everything you need to decide whether the activity is right for you:

• Title and description -- A summary of what the activity involves and why it matters.
• Duration -- How long the activity is expected to take.
• Locations -- Where the activity takes place, or whether it can be done remotely.
• Outcomes -- What you will achieve by completing the activity, including the number of Impact Coins you will earn.

Take a moment to read through the details carefully. Understanding what is expected before you register will help you complete the activity successfully.

Registering for an Activity

Once you have decided on an activity, tap the Register button on the detail page. Depending on the activity, the registration process may vary slightly:

1. Simple registration -- For many activities, tapping Register is all it takes. You will be confirmed immediately.
2. Consent forms -- Some activities, particularly those run by organisations working with young people, may require you to review and accept a consent form before you can proceed.
3. Custom questions -- Certain activities ask you to fill in additional information during registration, such as your availability, dietary requirements, or relevant experience.
4. Approval required -- In some cases, the organising body may need to review and approve your registration before you are confirmed. You will receive a notification when your registration has been accepted.

Note: If an activity requires approval, do not worry if you are not confirmed straight away. Organisations typically review registrations within a few days.

Following the Instructions

After you have registered, you will have access to the activity's instruction page. This is your guide to completing the activity successfully. Read through the instructions carefully before you begin -- they will outline:

• What you need to do, step by step.
• Any materials or preparation required.
• Specific locations you may need to visit.
• Safety information or guidelines to follow.

You can return to the instructions at any time by opening the activity from your Home tab, which is the first tab in the bottom navigation bar.

Tip: If the activity involves visiting a specific location, check the locations section on the detail page for addresses and directions before you head out.

Completing the Activity

Once you have carried out the activity, it is time to record your completion. Open the activity from your Home tab and follow the completion steps:

1. Submit evidence -- Many activities ask you to provide evidence of your work. This could be a photo, a short written reflection, or other data depending on what the activity requires.
2. Fill in data capture fields -- Some activities include specific questions or forms to capture the details of what you accomplished, such as how many items you collected or how many people you helped.
3. Mark as complete -- Once you have submitted everything, confirm that you have finished the activity.

Your submission may be reviewed by the activity organiser before it is fully approved. You will receive a notification once your completion has been confirmed.

Note: Be honest and thorough when submitting your evidence. Organisers review submissions to ensure the activity was completed as intended.

Earning Your First Impact Coins

Congratulations -- once your activity completion is confirmed, you will earn your first Impact Coins. These coins are a recognition of the positive impact you have made and are added to your total automatically.

You can view your Impact Coins balance at any time from your profile. Impact Coins accumulate as you complete more activities, giving you a clear picture of your contributions over time.

Tip: Keep an eye on your Impact Coins total as you complete more activities. Watching your balance grow is a great motivator to stay involved.

• Track your progress -- Use the Home tab to review your activities, monitor your Impact Coins, and see how your contributions add up.

The more you engage, the greater your impact. Every activity you complete brings you one step closer to making a meaningful difference.
