Setting Up Your Organisation

Your organisation profile is the first thing young people see when they discover you on Impactful. A complete, well-written profile helps you attract participants, build trust, and unlock all the features of Impactful Connect.

Profile Sections

Your profile is divided into eight sections. Complete each one to make the most of the platform.

Basic Information

This is the core of your profile. Fill in:

  • Organisation name — your official name as you want it displayed
  • Short description — a brief summary (shown in search results and cards)
  • Full description — a detailed overview of what your organisation does
  • Organisation type — select the category that best fits:
    • Charity, Community Group or Club, Business or Company, Public Sector / Government, School / University, Healthcare Organization, Faith-Based / Religious Group, Informal Group or Individual, Other
  • Organisation size — from Micro to Enterprise
  • Logo — your organisation's logo (recommended: 500 x 500px)
  • Banner — a banner image for your profile (recommended: 1600 x 900px)
  • Charity registration number — if applicable
  • Featured video — a YouTube or Vimeo link to introduce your organisation

Classifications

Help young people find you by selecting:

  • Causes — up to 5 cause areas your organisation works in (e.g., Education, Environment, Health)
  • Beneficiary groups — up to 10 groups your organisation supports

Areas of Operation

Specify the geographic regions where your organisation operates. This helps match you with young people in your area.

Strategy

Share your organisation's direction:

  • Mission statement — what you do and why
  • Vision statement — what you aim to achieve in the future

Fundraising

If your organisation accepts donations:

  • Fundraising URL — link to your donation page
  • Fundraising description — explain what donations support (max 1,000 characters)

Young people can also donate Impact Coins to your organisation through the app.

Social Media

Add links to your social media profiles so young people can follow you across platforms. Each link is validated to ensure it points to a real social media page.

Contact

Provide public contact details so young people and other organisations can reach you:

  • Primary contact name
  • Primary contact email
  • Primary contact phone
  • Website URL
  • Address (street, city/town, county/region, postcode)

Link to your terms and policies:

  • Terms of service URL
  • Privacy policy URL

Publishing Your Organisation

Once you have completed the required fields, you can publish your profile to make it visible on the platform.

Required for publishing:

  • Organisation name
  • Short description
  • Full description
  • Organisation type
  • Organisation size
  • Logo
  • Banner

To publish:

  1. Click Publish on your organisation profile page
  2. Your profile becomes visible to all young people on Impactful
  3. A green Published badge appears on your profile

To unpublish, click Unpublish at any time. This hides your profile from public view but preserves all your data.

Tip: Complete all eight sections before publishing. A thorough profile builds confidence with young people and their families, and helps your organisation appear in relevant searches.

Profile Completion Progress

Impactful Connect tracks your profile completion progress and guides you through any missing sections. Look for the profile completion indicators and guided tours that appear when you first set up your organisation.
